My Top 3 Favorite Training Kicks

Workout Shoes Are Critical In My Opinion For Many Reasons and Picking The Right Ones For You Can Be Pretty Difficult! There Are So Many Options Out There and Depending On Who You Talk To You Will Get A Myriad of Suggestions Accompanied With ‘Why These Shoes Are THE BEST’...So To Make Your Life More Complicated I Will Give You My Opinion :) ... However, I Will Preface Mine By Saying That The Right Workout Shoes Does Happen To Be VERY INDIVIDUAL. You Have To Find What Works and Feels Best For You, Everybody Has A Different Size, Shape, and Feel To Their Feet...Along With A Different Personal Liking. As Someone Who Has Tried and Played With TONS of Different Shoes In The Past Many Years I Can Only Give You What I Have Found Best For Me (Someone With A Size 11.5-12” Foot, Very Wide AKA Fat Foot, Works Out In A Ton of Different Ways, Has Been Through Multiple Injuries, and Loves Listening To The Beastie Boys). So If You Fit Those Descriptions Then These Will Probably Be Spot On Recommendations For You. However, Even If Those Don't Describe You There Is Still A Great Chance These Will Be Great For You!

Regardless If You Like My Personal Recommendations However I Think That There Are Some Things That A Good Workout Shoe Has To Have.

  • They Should Have A Relatively Flat Heel Lift…None Of These Hyper-Cushioned Heels (It's All About That Proper Ankle Mobility In A Skwat Pattern)

  • They Should Not Hurt Any Portion of Your Foot While Wearing Them

  • They Should Not Have An Air Mattress of Support In The Sole

  • They Should Give Your Toes Room To Wiggle But Not Be Swimming In

  • They Should Have Enough Support To Keep You Safe, But Not So Much That It’s Limiting

  • They Should Not Have One of Those Air Bubbles Anywhere Within Them

  • They Should Have Solid Grip/Traction For Multiple Surfaces

  • And Most Importantly...They Gotta Look Dope!

Note: This Is If You Are Looking To Workout In Full Ranges of Motions and Do A Variety of Activities Like Skwat Full Range, Lunge, Jump, Skip, Move Laterally, Run, Etc. If You Are Looking To Specialize In Something Like Running, Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Field Sports, Basketball, Etc. Then You Will Want To Find A Specific Shoe For That!

Anyway, Here Are My Top 3 All Time Training Shoes…

Nike Metcon 2 … These Have Been My Current Favorites For The Past 6 Months and The Best Shoe That I Have Come Across In The Past 3 Years. They Are Great For All Training Methods In My Opinion and With The Onset of The Metcon 3’s You Can Even Get Em At A Nice Price!

Nike Free Trainer 3.0 ... These Are My ALL TIME FAVORITE TRAINING SHOES! They Are Becoming Harder To Find These Days Because They Are On The 5.0s At This Point (Which Are Also Good) But The 3's Are My Jam! They Have The Perfect Heel Lift, The Perfect Support, The Perfect Comfort Level, and Now That They Do Have 2 New Versions...The Perfect Price!

Reebok Ros Workout TR Training Shoe … These Are A Fantastic All Around Shoe and Probably The Best Out There If You Have A Skinnier Foot. I Love These Shoes Though For All Situations of Training. They Work The Best of Them All If You Train Both Indoor and Outdoors In My Opinion. A Solid Shoe All Around!

Those Are My All Time Top 3 Favorites…If You’re Looking To Get Some New Workout Kicks Then I Would Highly Recommend You Start With Any One of These 3 Options! Remember To Be Honest With What Feels/Works The Best For You.
